“Where on earth is Maldives?”

～Yodogawa-Technique in Republic of Maldives・Prologue～

April 21-June 3,2012

Yodogawa-Technique who successfully completed their exhibition in Art Fair Tokyo had stayed in Maldives for a month until right before the fair started. We are introducing Yodo-Tech’s diary in Maldives here.The work “Sazare-uo” created in the island will be exhibited in Tokyo soon!

“It’s almost another world!” Republic of Maldives is that beautiful, surrounded by the quiet sea, and 120 coral covered small islands.However only Mallet island, the capital of Maldives is always hustles and bustles with motor cycles,demonstrations etc.Their buildings and garbages(!) in strong primary colors even make us feel irritated after a while.

Matsunaga(my partner as Yodogawa-Technique) was saying ” I have started to feel like people on motor cycles look like fish!”. Indeed,those people on motor cycles reminded us of a group of tropical fish we saw in Bandos,one of the resort islands of Maldives.
